Four characteristics that Red Panda have are:

    • Reproduce: Red Pandas are able to reproduce at around 18 months of age. By two to three years of age, they are fully matured. Red Panda adults rarely interact in the wild except to mate. A few days before female Red Pandas give birth, they collect material such as brush wood, leaves and soft grass to build a nest for their babies. The nest is normally located in a hollow tree.
    • Respond: If a Red Panda is being threatened, they will try to escape by climbing a rock or tree. If they can't escape, they will stand on their hind legs to make the predator think that they are larger. The Red Panda will also use their sharp claws to defend themselves.
    • Grow & Develop: Throughout development, the Red Panda moves away from its mother and continues to grow. From head to toe, a Red Panda can grow up to 63 centimeters and their tails are up to 47 centimeters long. Red Pandas have an average life span of 8-12 years, yet they can live up to 15 years. Sadly Red Pandas usually do not survive to adulthood.
    • Cells: Like humans, Red Pandas have a variety of cells such as blood cells, skin cells and hair cells.
